George Square Gardens will be home to The Influence Machine for 4 nights. Image Running from 23rd – 26th November between 7pm and 9pm, this immersive outdoor sculptural experience by artist Tony Oursler will come to life in Scotland for the first time. With moving projection systems linking nature to the urban atmosphere and video characters roaming the landscape, The Influence Machine captures the haunting atmosphere of magic lanterns, Victorian light shows, camera obscura and parlour tricks, while embracing the fully networked, digitally-assisted future of image and identity production. The Influence Machine, described as a ‘holographic model of human desire and dread’ is presented by the Edinburgh College of Art and The University of Edinburgh in collaboration with the Talbot Rice Gallery and Artangel.
