The College of Humanities and Social Science was proud to sponsor talks with inspiring, international authors. Jung Chang and Oscar Guardiola-Rivera spoke about their books, which looked at the lives of two individuals - Chinese Empress Dowager Cixi and former Chilean President Salvador Allende. The talks were in association with departments in the College, including the Scottish Centre for Chinese Studies, the Centre of African Studies, and the Centre for Contemporary Latin American Studies. Jung's book is also up for the James Tait Black Prize biography award.
