The University of Edinburgh inspires and hosts a number of Fringe shows every year. The University of Edinburgh’s main connection to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is via venue rental as we are the largest landlord for the Fringe. However, the programme is also always bursting with performances by students, researchers and staff that we promote widely through our various channels. Look out for the Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas, which is one of the university’s main annual showcases during the festival. The Traverse Theatre’s festival programme, which is part of the Fringe, includes the James Tait Black Drama Prize, Britain’s oldest literary awards. They also host two Pre:View events, where students from our MSc in Playwriting have rehearsed readings from their works performed.
